Project Director

Our company, PASH Advisory LLP (PASH Green) is a company set up to develop, invest, build, own and operate energy and infrastructure projects especially in emerging markets with a strong focus on the development of renewables such as solar PV, BESS and Wind projects.

In particular, PASH is now looking to grow into the Zimbabwean and Southern African Markets. We are therefore in need of an experienced Project Director to fill the role and meet our long-term growth strategy.

Job Overview:
 
Development and implementation of Power Projects in Zimbabwe and Southern Africa.
 
Main Tasks:

  • Identify new business opportunities by sourcing and coordinating bid applications; developing and negotiating contract requirements with business development partners.
  • Evaluate and review power project investment memorandums provided by development partners to ensure they meet financial and technical performance indices.
  • Carry out desktop and field feasibility study (site visits) for greenfield and brownfield power projects.
  • Develop preliminary commercial and technical project review reports and presentations.
  • Develop financial models based on technical and commercial assumptions provided by technical and financial department respectively.
  • Develop Investment Committee briefs and papers and presents to management.
  • Ensure projects adhere to appropriate development structure and costs budget. Provide project variance analysis where appropriate.
  • Ensure project financial results, risks and opportunities are critically reviewed and challenged.
  • Ensure that project risks and opportunities, mitigation plans, and savings plans are properly calculated and disclosed at the project reviews.
  • A detailed understanding of project development of renewable and conventional power projects
  • Assist technical team with price negotiations and develop procurement strategies with original equipment manufacturers and vendors.
  • Assist in negotiations with corporate finance firms to secure financing through bank loans, syndicates or debt securities.
  • Assist financial department with project financial controls to ensure project development budgets are effective, reliable and adhered to.
  • Financial modelling and asset valuation.
  • Negotiate the prices of purchased equipment to achieve project cost optimization.
  • Attending all meetings with project consultant and presenting all required calculations for the project.
  • Draft and review agreements with partners, clients and stakeholders.

Our ideal candidate will have

  • Excellent language English skills (written and spoken).
  • Excellent language Shona and Ndebele skills (written and spoken).
  • Ability to travel internationally when necessary.
  • Strong leadership and people skills are essential.
  • Preferably registered Lawyer or registered Accountant in Zimbabwe.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of African markets and African/Zimbabwean energy requirements.

Additional:

  • Complete knowledge of African markets and African/Zimbabwean energy requirements.
  • Previous demonstrable experience handling energy transactions in Zimbabwe.
  • Previous demonstrable experience in applying for ZERA licenses.
  • Network experience with stakeholders (ZERA, Intensive Energy Users and other Government regulators)
